Saturday 18th May 2024: A WALK ROUND VICTORIAN KNUTSFORD led by Peter de Figueiredo

The tour will take approx. 2 hours, focusing on the town centre but including St Cross Church 1880 by Austin and Paley. It will conclude with tea and cake at the Courtyard cafe at 4pm. It will NOT cover Legh Road due to distance and time restrictions.

Peter de Figueiredo was an active member of the Victorian Society in Manchester in the 70’s and early 80’s. Trained as an architect, he has worked for both the city of Chester and English Heritage. An acknowledged expert on architecture in the North-West and of Liverpool in particular, he has written a number of books on the subject and advises on historic buildings in the area.
For anyone travelling by public transport, trains leave Piccadilly at 12.10 and 13.10 arriving at 12.51 and 13.51 respectively. It is also possible to join the train at Stockport and Altrincham. Trains for Manchester return at 16.41 and 17.41.
